Hackers have managed to breach into a US government-owned website to post a photo of President Donald Trump hit in the face and blood dripping from his mouth.
The website, which belongs to the Federal Depository Library Program (FLDP), has already been taken down, an official of the Department of Homeland Security confirmed.
The defaced website provided users with a black page that included the said Donald Trump photo along with a message claiming that the hacking group acted on behalf of the “Islamic Republic Of Iran.”
“We will not stop supporting our friends in the region: the oppressed people of Palestine, the oppressed people of Yemen, the people and the Syrian government, the people and government of Iraq, the oppressed people of Bahrain, the true mujahideen resistance in Lebanon and Palestine; [they] always be supported by us,” the message published on the defaced website reads.

The photo showing the bloodied Donald Trump includes a direct reference to the US airstrike that killed Major General Qassem Soleimani earlier this week.

“Martyrdom was his (Shahid Soleymani) reward for years of implacable rewards. With his departure and with God’s power, his work and path will not crease and severe revenge waits those criminals,” the text in the photo reads.
While the message indicates that Iranian hackers are behind the breach, US officials claim there’s no clear evidence in this regard.
“We are aware the website of the Federal Depository Library Program (FDLP) was defaced with pro-Iranian, anti-US messaging. At this time, there is no confirmation that this was the action of Iranian state-sponsored actors. The website was taken offline and is no longer accessible. CISA is monitoring the situation with FDLP and our federal partners,” a representative of the Cybersecurity and Infrastructure Security Agency has been quoted as saying.
At the time of writing, the website is no longer available.
Donald Trump's company, the Trump Organization, is running seriously outdated software on its email servers, says Kevin Beaumont, an independent security researcher.
Beaumont, who scanned the Trump Organization's servers, says he discovered that their email server was running Windows Server 2003 and IIS 6.0, both deprecated technologies.
In fact, Windows Server 2003 reached end of life (EOL) status in July 2015, meaning Trump Org system administrators had more than a year to update their servers, but didn't.

The entire situation is extremely worrying and shows a slight indifference from the Trump Organization when it comes to security, especially after the high-profile hacks that have taken place in the last few months.
This includes reported breaches at the Democratic National Committee (DNC), and the Democratic Congressional Campaign Committee (DCCC), but let's not forget the whole 'Clinton private email server controversy.'
While the Trump Organization doesn't store any political-related information, being a commercial organization that manages Donald Trump's real estate properties, you'd expect the company of a candidate for the presidency of the United States of America to pay more attention to its own security.
This finding comes after at least threeseparateincidents when the Anonymous hacker collective targeted Trump's private companies.

Windows Server 2003 and IIS 6.0 weren't the only issues Beaumont discovered. The researcher says that most software running on the server wasn't patched and updated to the most recent (and secure) version.

There was also no evidence of MDM software or two-factor authentication, two security systems considered de-facto policies for large-scale enterprises.

While until now only the Democrat Party has been in the news as the target of politically-motivated and hacktivist groups, Beaumont's discovery might spark a new series of attacks against Trump's camp.
